The Web Master Certificate is designed to provide a strong foundation to the development of web pages and administration and
management of websites and web servers. The certificate uses the skills developed in the Web Developer Certificate and adds the
technical skills required to set up and manage web servers, etc. The Web Master Certificate is offered by the CIS department in
conjunction with the Michigan Community College Virtual Learning Collaborative (MCCVLC). Courses for this certificate are offered
at Oakland Community College and/or via distance learning by other participating Colleges in the MCCVLC.
Webmaster

(from web and master), also called a web architect, web developer, site author, website administrator, or webmistress
for females, is a person responsible for maintaining one or many websites.
The duties of the webmaster may include ensuring that the web servers,
hardware and software are operating accurately, designing the website,
generating and revising web pages, replying to user comments, and examining
traffic through the site. Webmasters "must also be well-versed in Web
transaction software, payment-processing software, and security software." Webmasters may be generalists with HTML expertise who manage most or all aspects of Web operations. Depending on the nature of the websites they manage, webmasters typically know scripting languages such as Javascript, PHP and Perl. They may also be required to know how to configure web servers such as Apache or IIS and serve as the server administrator. An alternative definition of webmaster is a businessperson who uses online media to sell products and/or services. This broader definition of webmaster covers not just the technical aspects of overseeing Web site construction and maintenance but also management of content, advertising, marketing, and order fulfillment for the Web site. Core responsibilities of the webmaster may include the regulation and management of access rights of different users of a website, the appearance and setting up website navigation. Content placement can be part of a webmaster's responsibilities, while content creation may not be. Webmasters also heavily deal with high volumes of email, often related to important web or computer-related questions

A real-estate broker or real estate agent is a party who acts as an intermediary between sellers and buyers of real estate/real
property and attempts to find sellers who wish to sell and buyers who wish to buy. In the United States, the relationship was
originally established by reference to the English common law of agency, with the broker having a fiduciary relationship with his
clients. Estate agent is the term used in the United Kingdom to describe a person or organization whose business is to market real
estate on behalf of clients, but there are significant differences between the actions and liabilities of brokers and estate agents
in each country. Beyond the United States, other countries take markedly different approaches to the marketing and selling of real
property. In the United States, real estate brokers and their salespersons (commonly called "real estate agents" or, in some states,
"brokers") assist sellers in marketing their property and selling it for the highest possible price under the best terms.
When acting as a buyer's agent with a signed agreement (or, in many cases, verbal agreement, although a broker may not be legally
entitled to his commission unless the agreement is in writing), they assist buyers by helping them purchase property for the lowest
possible price under the best terms. Without a signed agreement, brokers may assist buyers in the acquisition of property but still
represent the seller and the seller's interests. In most jurisdictions in the United States, a person must have a license before
they may receive remuneration for services rendered as a real estate broker. Unlicensed activity is illegal, but buyers and sellers
acting as principals in the sale or purchase of real estate are not required to be licensed. In some states, lawyers are allowed to
handle real estate sales for compensation without being licensed as brokers or agents.

Real estate appraisal, property valuation or land valuation is the process of valuing real property.
The value usually sought is the property's Market Value. Appraisals are needed because compared to, say, corporate stock, real estate
transactions occur very infrequently. Not only that, but every property is different from the next, a factor that doesn't affect assets
like corporate stock. Furthermore, all properties differ from each other in their location - which is an important factor in their value.
So a centralized Walrasian auction setting can't exist for the trading of property assets, such as exists to trade corporate stock
(i.e. a stock market/exchange). This product differentiation and lack of frequent trading, unlike stocks, means that specialist qualified
appraisers are needed to advise on the value of a property. The appraiser usually provides a written report on this value to his or her
client. These reports are used as the basis for mortgage loans, for settling estates and divorces, for tax matters, and so on. Sometimes
the appraisal report is used by both parties to set the sale price of the property appraised. In some areas, an appraiser doesn't need a
license or any certification to appraise property. Usually, however, most countries or regions require that appraisals are done by a
licensed or certified appraiser (in many countries known as a Property Valuer or Land Valuer and in British English as a "valuation
surveyor"). If the appraiser's opinion is based on Market Value, then it must also be based on the Highest and Best Use of the real
property. For mortgage valuations of improved residential property in the US, the appraisal is most often reported on a standardized
form, such as the Uniform Residential Appraisal Report.[1] Appraisals of more complex property (e.g. -- income producing, raw land) are
usually reported in a narrative appraisal report.
